If you’re wearing a suit to work, you know what you shouldn’t be wearing? A backpack. But every day you’ll see men who went through the trouble of getting a great suit, walking into work with a backpack that’s barely fit for a middle schooler.
If you’re upgrading your work outfit, you can’t just stop with the clothes. You need to make sure what you’re bringing to work looks just as professional. It’s time to ditch the backpack, and pick up one of these accessories to carry your workload in:
- A Briefcase
The classic. Nothing says a man with things to do like a sleek black briefcase that you bring to work. Most are highly durable (just try to bust one up,) and you can get ones that are rain resistant so the old problem of the leather curling up won’t be an issue for you. The only catch is that while they’re sleek and efficient, you generally can’t carry very much inside of one except for papers and a notebook or two. If you’re carting more back and forth from the office, you might want to try….
- A Messenger Bag
Slightly more modern, and with far more room to store supplies. At Karako Suits, we have a pretty large variety of these to choose from, and more and more men are picking this over a briefcase to bring what they need to the office. The added benefit of a messenger bag is that you can also use it when you’re not dressed up, whereas a briefcase is simply not as versatile.
- A Leather Pack
If you’re really into using a backpack, you can at least upgrade the quality so it doesn’t look like the same one you brought with you to grade school. There are leather and cloth backpacks that can look stunningly grown up, and an entire market has been created for packs that look upscale enough to go with a suit, but are rugged enough to last. While we don’t heavily recommend these, they can be a great option if you truly need the space.
